A Matter Of Hours

From months, to weeks ,to days and now finally just hours. If all goes as planned by Thursday night I will be a mom:) Today, marks 37 weeks for us, which our doctor says is considered full term. Because of my high blood pressure and the other problems I have told you about he is not planning on going beyond tomorrow.

So, by tomorrow I will be holding her in my arms:) I am filled with emotions, I'm happy, excited but also scared. Thanks to all of you who have sent me prayers and words of encouragement, your kind words are appreciated:) I'll keep you updated.

The Clock Is Ticking

We are getting closer to the 37 week mark. That is when our doctor will most likely deliver the baby. He is monitoring my blood pressure and the baby, weighing my risks versus the baby's. He says 37 weeks is considered full term and the baby should be just fine. I've been in the hospital, this second time for a week now, and I am more than ready to meet our little one:)

I've got e-mails from lots of moms who have been in my position, delivering their little ones early. Thanks for those e-mails, your stories make me feel better:) I'll keep you updated:)

Puppy Love

For the first time in nearly a week I left my hospital room, by wheel chair, for a few minutes. My husband brought my little dog to see me:) The nurses here are so kind, they wheeled me out to the front of the hospital so I could pet him.

My husband said he had been looking for me around the house. His tail started wagging as soon as he saw me. There's nothing like a tail wag and a wet nose to put a smile on my face. And guess what? When my nurse, Amy, took my blood pressure it was lower:) My little guy is worth his weight in gold now I just hope he adjusts to having a little sister:)

Baby Watch

Thank you for all the e-mails, prayers and well wishes:) We have so many kind viewers and Newsnet5 readers. You certainly cheered me up:)

Well, we now know that our baby will in fact be here early. We are trying to make it to 37 weeks. If all goes well with keeping my blood pressure down she will be born by the end of next week. If not she will be here sooner.

Right now as I sit here writing I can hear her heart on the monitor. She's having a grand old time:) It is amazing what doctors and technology can do to help and monitor babies.
Last night she had the hiccups and I could hear them:)
It is getting very exciting knowing that in just a matter of days I will meet the little one. I'll keep you updated.

From The Hospital

I'm sorry I haven't updated you in a while, but it has been a very busy week! I was admitted to the hospital because of some late pregnancy complications. I was allowed to go home on Saturday for bed rest and to go to my shower on Sunday but then complete bed rest. It didn't work because Tuesday I was admitted again.

I will be here at the hospital until I have the baby. We will not make it to our due date next month. The doctor thinks we will have our new daughter before the end of next week:)

I was able to make the baby shower my parents planned. It was beautiful. We got so many nice gifts. Now, it's up to my husband to put them away, since I am out of commission:)

If I haven't answered your e-mails, that's why. Sorry. I will keep you updated.

Place At Home

The arrival of our little one is now just weeks away! It is becoming very real, very fast. We saw her face last week and Tuesday her furniture arrived. Now that there is a place set up just for her in our home, reality is setting in. I found myself just staring at the nursery, imagining our little girl in there. For a first time mom it is very exciting:)

Our nursery is pink and yellow, and I'll spend my days off this week in there. I have to start
putting all of her little things away. My parents are having a baby shower for us in just a few days and I'm sure we will get lots of beautiful things for the baby. We are in the final stretch and each day is just filled with anticipation.

View Into The Womb

On Thursday, for the first time, we got a very clear picture of what our little one looks like. We have had several ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy but this is the first time we actually saw her little face clearly. In the past, it was sometimes hard to make out the baby, but not this time.
It's been some time since our last ultrasound and she has really grown. She's almost 5 pounds now. The doctor used the 3D ultrasound pictures to make sure she's right on track. The pictures are just amazing. The baby was not cooperating, our ultrasound technician had to work hard to get the picture. But, it was worth it, we think she is beautiful. My husband took a picture of the screen and is now showing everyone who will stop to look :)

Daycare Dilemma

The clock is ticking to our due date:) We are very excited, but nervous at the same time. The first trimester seemed to go so slow but that's certainly not the case now. Time is flying and there is still so much to do.

We still have many loose ends to tie up and new challenges to tackle. The task at hand, besides finding a pediatrician, is finding a daycare provider. We will need someone to watch our little one a few days a week. We are trying to decide if we want someone to come into our home, take her to someone's house, or a daycare center. My parents have offered to come out here and watch her until we decide on someone, so the pressure is off a little bit. But I must admit, it is very scary deciding who and where you will leave your little one!

I'm interested in hearing what you think is best. In home, outside the home, or daycare center?
If you have a second drop me a line and let me know what you prefer?

Work Baby Shower

Last Week some of my friends gave me my first baby shower. It was a small group of about 15 women, most from Newschannel 5, but a few who just have ties to our Newschannel 5 family.

My friend, Lana, who is the executive producer special projects hosted the event. It was in a private room at Panera Bread. The room was decorated in pink, with balloons, and pretty pink cake. The food was good, the company better:)

My friends were very generous. We got some beautiful outfits, some baby gear from our registry, and baby photo albums. We snapped some pictures, they will be under a seperate blog.

Back To Business

I hope everyone had a Happy Holiday :) Now, that I'm back from a little vacation my goal is to find a pediatrician. Again, I want to thank all of you who emailed me about names and doctors. It is so nice to be able to tap in to so much knowledge and advice, so a great big thanks to all of you.

On our time off, my husband and I worked on the baby's room. It's painted, the closet organizer is in, and all of her little things that we got as gifts are tucked away. It makes it seem so real that in just 7 weeks we will have a little one.

I am lucky enough to have wonderful family and friends who will be throwing us 2 showers. The first is from my work friends, hopefully I'll be able to snap some pictures and I will pass them along.

Tracy
